Forgotton Anne releases next week on the Nintendo Switch

The widely acclaimed indie adventure-platformer Forgotton Anne is set to release on the Switch next week, on September 9th . Initially expected to release in Spring 2019, today’s announcement from publisher Square Enix comes as a welcome surprise.

Moreover, Forgotton Anne is now available to pre-order on the Nintendo eShop, discounted to £14.39 from the Europe eShop or $17.99 in the US until November 16th.  This cinematic adventure previously released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One back in May, and was praised for its masterful storytelling and compelling outcome mechanics.

With elements of puzzles and light platforming driving gameplay, the protagonist Anne traverses through anime-like levels discovering more about the world, in her efforts to escape from it.  You meet new characters in the form of conscious objects, or ‘Forgotlings’ – the backbone of a rebellion that keeps you from returning to the human world.

Armed with an Arca device, it’s up to you to decide if these rebels should to be drained of their life-force, or deserve the more difficult non-lethal approach. If you enjoy platformers with beautiful level design, clever puzzles and a system of genuinely significant outcomes, Forgotton Anne might be worth a second look.
